How Two Contractors Accidentally Built a Supply Empire
Born from frustration. Built to dominate.
🧼 The Accidental Beginning
When Stephen and Dan first started this, it wasn’t because they wanted to be a soap dealer. Hell, they never intended to sell bleach! It all started with them trying to save money on the fences they were cleaning before they stained them (shoutout to Stephen Venturini for that idea).
At first, it was just about getting the job done more cost-effectively, using bleach for Fence King’s needs and Stephen getting bleach for Venturini’s Pressure Washing at a discount. It was a win-win!! But, you know how life works… the fella’s got a tank, and Stephen & Dan didn’t realize the demand Acadiana, Southeast Louisiana and the Mississippi Gulf Coast had for bleach.
That’s when they put their heads together, and TSS was born. Not only to help Dan’s fence business and Stephen’s washing business but to help hard working local pressure washers get what they need, when they need it. Why? Because the local “bleach spot” was more worried about banker’s hours than they were about the hours of their customer’s…YOU!
Cigars The Sunday Spark
Then one Sunday, Dan was just kickin’ it at home with the ole lady, and Stephen drops by to smoke a Fat Bottom Betty Cigar(now you know where our cherry Soap’s name came from). He mentions he couldn’t clean Dan’s roof until later in the week because he was still waiting on the UPS man to deliver his soap…
Dan was like, “You’re buying your soap online? Why not local? Just go pick some up, I don’t care if it costs extra, I just need it done before this Gender Reveal Saturday”
💀 The Grim Reaper of Grime
That’s when #TheGrimReaperOfGrime was born. Dan found out the nearest shop was a 45-minute drive, ONE WAY, and that’s without traffic (and we all know how the traffic’s can be).
So, their brains started working and Dan said to Stephen, “Fuck waiting around on the damn UPS man to pull up, we just need to make our own soap! It’s not like we don’t have the money to do it, and then we’ll be the only ones who keep it in stock!”
Stephen said, “I like the way you think, Fence King!” That’s when the wheels really started turning, and they put their heads together.
🇺🇸 Made in the USA
Stephen’s soap came in, he got Dan a couple of samples of the best stuff on the market and the whole time they were thinking, Why settle?
So, they found a US-based chemical company (Made in the USA matters to these guys), asked if they had the capability to make soap, sent them the samples, and Dan, (we all know how Dan can be), he literally told the guy this, and we think he was thinking to himself, “Who the hell is this guy?”
and Dan said, “Look man, I build fences, and you make chemicals. I don’t give a fuck how you do it, just make me something better than all those samples I sent you, COMBINED! I didn’t make it to where I am today by producing low quality and following the rules!”
The guy was like, ummm, ok…? (side note: the guy freakin’ loves Stephen and Dan now)
Fast forward, and the world got #FatBottomCherry and #CreoleLemonSqueeze. Why? Because two guys sitting around smoking a cigar couldn’t wait for the BIG BROWN truck to pull up with their order so they could get the job done when they needed it done. Pretty damn simple!
And while we’re at it… Killshot Contractor Chemical line and Wood Restoration Chemicals (both brands birthed by Stephen & Dan), F9 Restorative, Deco Products, Inc and Expert Stain & Seal…. Are all Made in the USA and sold at TSS!!
Because they meet the exact standards Stephen and Dan believe in. Just like their own businesses, they don’t settle for less than the best. These brands are the real deal, American-made, and they deliver exactly what they want for themselves, their customers, and their community. So, what can you do, you might ask…???
So, what can you do?
Easy: help out the local guy who went all-in to make sure you, the local guy, have everything you need… and buy some damn soap for crying out loud, because mamma needs a new pair of shoes!!!
"So buy some damn soap for crying out loud, because mamma needs a new pair of shoes!!!"
